I really like this app. It is easy to use and correlates very close with my commercial sound meter.

It is definitely an accurate sound level meter. Compared with my handheld digital SPL meter, its reading is very close, about +/- 1dB and quite consistent, over many sound levels. For my curiosity,I tested under various conditions and it is consistent thru-out.I have not tested at extreme end those - I hope not get into that env either! The most thing I like about this app is its dual functions of monitoring safe hearing based on OSHA guidelines and it is in-fact a valuable one. I checked all my kid toys and fortunately all turn out safe. The flashing alert should be excellent use for party goers and I did not realize that hearing loss cause by sound is permanent With iPhone, I do have a great tool at anytime to monitor for exceeded sound level anywhere. In summary, it is a very well worth app to keep for two dollars...
This app is very easy to use and has a very nice colourful pleasant display. It has many useful concise health information.I use this app to check the noise levels around my house and neighbourhood. This is very helpful in my area where I live near the airport and subway /train station. It helps to assure that my kids are not exposed to excessive noise level which may harm their ears and to prevent hearing impair at later age. This app does a wonderful job for its purpose to monitor hearing safety and gives instantaneous feedbacks and peace of mind for my family.
So easy to use and provides a great measure of sound. My ears feel safer already!
Great app especially when youre worried about your declining hearing. Had my daughter download one as well when she was convinced that working at a club would not affect her ears. Great for prevention and mitigation.
I have used this app for quite awhile and was disappointed when it wouldnt work on my new iPhone 6s. I contacted the author and he fixed the problem. Im very pleased and can recommend this app to anyone who wants/needs to sample sound.
A nice sound meter with lots of parameters to measure and easy to use panels.
cool app, best in class
Excellent tool, calibrated well and very accurately. Truly useful for measuring sound levels in any practical setting.
Definitely a useful tool for determining noise pollution at various locations as well as when test driving cars. Works great!
Very well done. Graphics even look good on the app.
If you listen to music a lot or use your iPhone for call, you maybe doing damage to your hearing already by listening too loud. Use the app to learn about hearing level. This is the best one of this type of app!
Beyond testing for hearing impact this is really a very good audio analysis tool for very small investment as it includes basic spectrum analysis capabilities along with the usual SPL capabilities. Charge just a little more and add reporting capability and youve got 5 stars plus.
Nice and simple to use and best part accurate
Health message is very useful for hearing protection! Best in class!
While I have no test equipment with certified calibration for comparison, Ive found the readings to match verbal descriptions of various noise levels closely, e.g., "library" or "chain saw at 3 ft". The app provides a variety of information in addition to raw dB level, including spectrum and safe exposure duration data. Controls are fairly intuitive, and the display is well thought out. If you need such an app, this one is, in my opinion, well worth getting.
Great app for determining hazardous noise levels (and most of the time you dont realize the noise level is hazardous - which makes this app a must!) I recommend that the ability to "save" the current noise level (with the ability to add a note referencing where I was at the time). Emailing a snap of the level is ok, but I really dont care to email it to myself for historical records.
Very accurate!
Excellent!
I am currently using this app for a sound study outdoors having to do with Pickle-ball noise levels in a park over periods of time. With this app, we will be able to conclude that the noise from this sport will comply with county minimum DbA standards within the distance to neighboring homes. I am using the DociMeter for this study and find that I would like to plug noise canceling headphones into the iPad and be able to hear what the computer is analyzing. To do that, there should be a volume slider on the screen. Also, it would be good to be able to completely pause the analyzing process to allow for extraneous loud noises not to be measured if desired. In my case, cars and trucks are not a factor in this study. I also suggest that data storage files be made available in addition to the email feature. Its already five stars...How about going for six? John in LWW
